![]() ![]() The wall hanging awards are $400 for first place, $300 for second place and $200 for third place. Quilt awards are $750 for first place, $400 for second place and $300 for third place. McCuean’s work has been published in numerous books, magazines and calendars. She began making quilts in 1978 as a hand quilter, began longarm quilting in 1998, and in 2004 became a Certified Quilt Judge with the National Quilting Association. Winners were selected by Linda McCuean, a professional longarm quilter, teacher, lecturer and quilt maker. ![]() ![]() The exhibition features the work of 45 quilters. “This annual display is a favorite for many West Virginians and for quilters and quilt lovers from around the country. Quilt making is one of West Virginia’s oldest and most treasured art forms,” said Charles Morris, museums director. There are 36 quilts and 22 wall hangings in the exhibition, which will remain on display until Oct. This year, the popular juried exhibition features 58 creative quilts and wall hangings representing the talents of West Virginians from 19 counties. and the exhibition is free to the public. ![]() The Culture Center is currently open to visitors Tuesday – Saturday 9 a.m. – The West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History’s (WVDACH) annual exhibition, Quilts and Wall Hangings 2020, is now on display in the Great Hall of the Culture Center, State Capitol Complex. ![]()
